HOW DO YOU STARTUP AFTER A DISASTER?

Recently I was e-mailed this question: “How can we tell how many shots to discard after startup or after power outage, or after an emergency stop or after we open the mold to remove a stuck part? Do we have to purge in all these scenarios or just in some? Which ones?  Do you measure the parts from the discarded shots to determine when the parts transition from bad to fully filled dimensionally good parts?”  Wow!  Interesting questions. CHOOSING THE PROPER MOLDER

Let’s assume you are either relocating tooling or you have a project and you need to find a new molder.  You’ve heard the guys off shore tell you they’ll “make you a velly gud plice” and “is an excellent moulder”.  For the moment let’s ignore the fact he goes by the name of Robert when his real name is Ling Chow.  He gives you a bid that knocks your sox off.  Is his company the right one to go to?
